WFDF 2008 World Ultimate & Guts Championships

GB Women are starting to take flight, heading to Vancouver with keen excitement! As part of the journey to Worlds, a few of us ran a photography competition celebrating British Women in Sport. We had Andy Burnham, Secretary of State, Media, Culture and Sport; Jon Jones, Deputy Photo Editor for Times London; and Lucia Griggi, Professional Surf photographer as our judges.

It was inspiring to read the emails from people across the UK (and further abroad!) who photographed and supported British women athletes. From cycling to wrestling, climbing to dragon boating, volleyball to archery - great shots of amazing women. We've created a magazine highlighting:

• the winning photographs in 4 categories,

• 3 interviews with elite British athletes, and
• a special feature on Ultimate, of course.

Rob Whitehouse brilliantly designed the magazine for us, Dave Barnard created and managed our website, and countless others offered their help. Photographers offered their ultimate images to us so we could explain the game to more people in a highly visual manner. Thanks to Tom Styles, Graham Bailey, Scobel Wiggins, Paul Hurt, Andrew Davis, Dave Sanders, Jason Mechler, And Matti Kajaste. As usual the ultimate community stepped up to help our cause.
