Hi,
What are the arrangements are for Game coverage?
Since I am in Sydney, Australia I will rely on the internet to find out what is happening _during_ and after the games.
Have I missed something?
It won't be happening until the evening, and if there's a party, I'll be there with camera and beer so those photos might be a day delayed.
I'm afraid I can't speak for any other coverage - I was hoping to do some sort of live update thing - but I don't know how good the internet access will be at the fields, and ultimately (pun intended), I'd prefer to be out shooting than typing in scores.
I may try and include a couple of paragraphs in my daily uploads though.
There will be wireless access at the main field complex, a separate indoor Internet Cafe next to the fields, and you can get Internet turned on in your UBC Residence for a small fee as well.
How do people not in Vancouver follow this event? As much as I want to be there I can't and thus was planning to follow online. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for video and live updates.
More details will be posted this weekend, but we'll have:
- live scores
- live pool/division summaries
- video and photo upload areas
- daily newsletters
- and maybe even a webcast or two...
Craig,
Live scores would be great..
Where will the links to this information be? Storybook?
I have found the three photographers, the two videocasts and Blockstack.tv
Looks similar to what the European Ultimate Championships where using last year (http://www.euc2007.org/). I don't know, how "live" the scores will be, though.
On the schedule pages, once the game starts a score will appear, and clicking on it will take you to a game summary page. You can click on the ~ in the Score column now to go to that page.
We've developed a mobile scoring application to record points (goal & assist), timeouts, and turnovers in real-time for display on the website.
Hello Craig or anyone who has been able to watch it?
I'm not able to find where Ultivillage is broadcasting the daily showcase game as mentioned on the WUGC homepage. It was said the USA vs. Can Masters game was supposed to be broadcasted live for free, but I couldn't find it that day either.
I've gone to their website many times and have clicked on every possible button. I am registered and logged on to their site, but the only things that come up are subscription options for daily highlights or the Saturday games. (side note question - why are they charging $4.50 shipping for an online activation? and it says it may take a few days?)
Thanks a bunch. I've organised nightly gatherings of ulti players here in Germany to watch/follow the showcase games at 2am over here, but so far no luck getting the visual version. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, the real-time scoring on the WUGC site is fantastic. Thanks.
the link is on the front page right under the login area. It says "UVtv LIVE WEBCAST" and that is where you should click on. Since you no longer need to register to see the free Webcast (it seems there will only be one more on Thursday, i.e. 2.00 am Friday in Germany) here is the direct link which should work:
Don't forget there's also the documentary style coverage from BlockStack TV in the form of daily podcasts. If you watched the UltiVillage webcast you'll already be familiar with Tom and myself who were doing the commentary on that and will be back next Saturday for the finals teaming up with UVTv. We'll be providing some behind the scenes daily podcasts at www.blockstack.tv capturing the atmosphere, the people and the ultimate working closely with the organisers and with Ultivillage.com.
Episode #1 the Pre-Tournament show is online now. Expect Episode 2 - The Making of the Webcast and the Show Game Madness online later today.
Photos from games
I'll be uploading a good percentage (possibly all) of my good photos daily to
